Karrie Keyes, Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder’s monitor engineer for the last 28 years, will receive the Parnelli Audio Innovator Award for her work empowering the next generation of women in audio.
Karrie is the co-founder and executive director of SoundGirls, a nonprofit dedicated to creating a supportive community for women in audio and music production, providing the tools, knowledge, and support to further their careers. SoundGirls is a beneficiary of Vitalogy Foundation.
In the early 1990s, she toured with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and crossed paths with Pearl Jam when they were opening for a RHCP show in 1991. By 1992, she was juggling monitor duties for both Pearl Jam and RHCP, eventually becoming a permanent member of the Pearl Jam family, including handling leader Eddie Vedder’s solo tours.
The 19th Annual Parnelli Awards will take place on January 17, 2020, during the NAMM convention in Anaheim, CA.
