MP3 of the Month: June 2007
back index

Hullabaloo, benefit festival organized by The Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist, Flea.  May 5th, 2007.

Ed Vedder is awaited as one of the special guests of the event. He plays a beautiful acoustic set, then, together with his longtime friends Jack Irons (former Pearl Jam drummer and the man 'responsible' for handing the Gossard demos to Vedder, back in 1990) and Flea, plays an atypical set consisting of original songs and covers played with incredible verve. The Who cover, The Kids Are Alright, is unforgettable, having Sex Pistols' Steve Jones as special guest on guitar... Since the 'real' Who are going to play in Verona this month, this J.F.Mp3 is also a way to celebrate this historical band coming back to our country.

I don't mind other guys dancing with my girl
That's fine, I know them all pretty well
But I know sometimes I must get out in the light
Better leave her behind with the kids, they're alright
The kids are alright

Sometimes, I feel I gotta get away
Bells chime, I know I gotta get away

And I know if I don't, I'll go out of my mind
Better leave her behind with the kids, they're alright
The kids are alright

I know if I go things would be a lot better for her
I had things planned, but her folks wouldn't let her

I don't mind other guys dancing with my girl
That's fine, I know them all pretty well
But I know sometimes I must get out in the light
Better leave her behind with the kids, they're alright
The kids are alright

Sometimes, I feel I gotta get away
Bells chime, I know I gotta get away

And I know if I don't, I'll go out of my mind
Better leave her behind with the kids, they're alright
The kids are alright
