Flight To Mars lead singer Paul Passarelli has passed away.
Paul Passarelli, Flight to Mars lead singer, died Thursday May 25, 2023 in Seattle after he suffered from a heart attack.
During his career he has been part of many bands: Joker, Lipstick, and Flight To Mars (UFO tribute band founded in 2003 featuring Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, Tim DiJulio, Gary Westlake, and Mike Musburger). In 2017, Passarelli sang on the album Turbo Excelente by Seattle band Palooka.
“I first met Paul Passerelli when my band Shadow and his band Lipstick were hanging at the same parties 40 years ago. Paulie was super funny and a great story teller, even up until his passing. I loved his voice! This is why he was the only choice for Flight To Mars! Some of my favorite times ever are when we played Love to Love. Made me feel like a kid just figuring out the wonder and mystery of Rock and Roll. When Paulie sang those songs it signaled the excitement and beauty of the coming of Summer. Paulie was the Summer, The Rock Singer, Storyteller and Great Human being. I’ll miss him. RIP my dear friend.” – Mike McCready
