A cover of Eddie Vedder‘s Room At The Top, originally written by Tom Petty and included on his 1999 album Echo, is available for streaming today.
A cover of Tom Petty’s Room At The Top recorded by Ed Vedder with Earthlings *, included on the soundtrack of the new TV serie Bad Monkey (which will be available exclusively on Apple TV+ starting August 14) is available for streaming today. This song follows the release in June of English Beat’s Save It For Later, recorded by the Pearl Jam singer for the third season of The Bear.
The constant in both songs, in addition to Vedder, is the production of Andrew Watt, already behind albums such as Dark Matter by Pearl Jam and Earthling by Eddie himself. Have the two recorded various covers for a possible EP or album to be released soon? Only time will tell.
Below you can listen to the studio version of Eddie Vedder’s Room At The Top and watch the Pearl Jam singer’s performance at the 2018 Oscars during which Eddie sang the Tom Petty song.
* Earthlings are Andrew Watt, Josh Klighoffer, Chad Smith, Glen Hansard and Chris Chaney. In the studio version of Room At The Top, Benmont Tench plays the keyboards.
