In 1993, producer Steve Albini played a prank on the Pearl Jam singer with Nirvana.
In a recent interview, historic producer Steve Albini revealed that he made a phone prank on Eddie Vedder at the time of the recording sessions of In Utero by Nirvana.
Steve Albini and Nirvana called Eddie Vedder pretending to be Tony Visconti, the producer of David Bowie’s most important records, proposing to the voice of Pearl Jam to “record something with really good musicians, for your potential solo record“.
Eddie Vedder replied that he wasn’t interested, although he admired Visconti’s work.
